DEBRA FECHTER ELECTED CHAIRPERSON OF EAST MIDTOWN PARTNERSHIP
NEW YORK, NY, June 24, 2008 – Debra G. Fechter, Partner, of Digby Management Company has been elected Chairperson of the East Midtown Partnership’s (EMP) Board of Directors. Ms. Fechter, who has served on the Business Improvement District’s Board for the past six years, most recently acting as Treasurer, succeeds Jeff Spiritos, who has held the position for over six years.
”I am both honored and excited to follow in the footsteps of Jeff Spiritos, whose direction has helped guide this organization for many years,” said Ms. Fechter. “The EMP is a wonderful resource for those who work, live or visit the district. Our goal is to ensure these people are aware of our existence and understand how they can benefit from the services we provide.” Rob Byrnes, President of EMP, offered high praise for the new Chairperson. “Debbie is deeply committed to making this BID better in all facets. Under her leadership, we will continue to serve the needs of our constituents and help promote business development in East Midtown.“
Digby Management Company is a New York City-based real estate investment firm that, along with its affiliates, owns and operates residential, office and retail properties in Manhattan. Prior to joining Digby, Ms. Fechter was a Senior Vice President in the Appraisal/Consultation group at James Felt Realty Services, where she appraised notable New York City properties including Rockefeller Center and The Empire State Building. In addition to her duties as an EMP Board member, she is also a member of WX, New York Women Executives in Real Estate, a professional association of senior-level women in real estate, and serves as Co-Chairperson of the Residential Management Council of REBNY.
Established in 2002, the East Midtown Partnership (formerly East Midtown Association) is the third-largest BID in New York City in terms of size. The organization provides a variety of services and enhancements to the area covering Second to Madison Avenues between East 49th and 63rd Streets, including security, sanitation and homeless outreach.
