Congratulations to the March, 2009 "East Midtown Blocks of the Month": the east side of Madison Avenue between East 55th Street and East 57th Streets.
Since this Business Improvement District opened its doors in 2002, the businesses on these two busy blocks have always taken a heightened interest in improving commercial activity and promoting the community. Since the East Midtown Partnership began "redesigning" itself last year, that involvement has only increased. Although there are only three buildings on the two blocks, these Madison Avenue businesses have taken the lead in working with us to help build an "East Midtown identity," utilizing our newsletter to promote economic activity, and -- yes -- even distributing our umbrellas!
For their many positive contributions to the entire community -- and for serving as an example of how businesses can work hand in hand with the EMP -- we salute the property owners and businesses of these vibrant blocks. Congratulations to the men and women of Madison Avenue!
