SIDEWALK PLANTING INITIATIVE BEAUTIFIES DISTRICT STREETSCAPE

In May, the East Midtown Partnership began planting tree pits in the district as the cornerstone of our community beautification efforts.  As of this writing, 25 tree pits along East 56th and East 57th streets have been planted with colorful begonias and coleus, and another seven pits on East 58th Street will be planted shortly.

We would like to expand this project to other unplanted or underutilized tree pits throughout the district. The EMP provides the plants and maintenance... all you have to provide is the tree pit..  We encourage you to contact us for information about how you can become involved.
