Celebrate WorldPride 2019 in East Midtown

This June, an estimated 3 to 4 million visitors will be in New York City to celebrate WorldPride 2019, which coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. Add hundreds of thousands of area residents to the mix and our city can look forward to an exciting month.The East Midtown Partnership has planned programming to welcome and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community during WorldPride. Whether you're a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, please plan to join us for a memorable month.

WorldPride Block Party


Hosted in partnership with SUNY Global Center, we invite SUNY Students, SUNY Alumni, and the East Midtown Community to our Pride Block Party on East 55th Street, between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue. Stop by anytime between 12:00 Noon and 4:00 PM on Friday, June 21 for lunch, coffee, or a sweet treat and enjoy:

  • Tents for partner organizations (Trevor Project, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, and more to come)
  • Lunch, snack, and coffee tents
  • Seating area with tables and chairs
  • A PRIDE confetti photo booth
  • DJ Zeke Thomas playing music
  • SUNY Pride Parade Float, which will serve as our stage
  • "SUNY’s Got Your Back" backpack assembly area: suny.edu/gotyourback
  • An art show by LGBTQ SUNY students in the SUNY Global Center
  • Appearances by FIT’s annual drag pageant kings/queens winners

East Midtown AIDS Memorial Quilt Walk


We are thrilled to be a part of a city-wide display of AIDS Memorial Quilt panels on loan from the Names Project. AIDS Panel Quilts are on display at nine locations in East Midtown! We encourage you to visit them all!
